Referees

In recent soccer seasons, there's been a shortage of referees across the Edgerton area, the state and the country. Many weekend games go without a full crew of referees or worse yet, get cancelled because there is no available referee.  You can help address that shortage.

Why should you or your player(!) become a referee?

  • Flexible Schedule: Determine your schedule around your availability.
  • Be Part of the Game: Continue to be part of the game you love.
  • Develop Life Skills: Discipline, leadership, organization, communication, professionalism and confidence.
  • Challenge Yourself: Being a Referee is rewarding. Opportunities to advance to higher level games and post season tournaments.
  • Get Paid: Earn good money to participate in a sport you love.
  • Health & Fitness: Great way to be active and improve your fitness.

The Grassroots First-Time Referee course is for candidates who haven't previously been registered as a referee, or for previously registered referees who have had a lapse in registration (2020 or earlier). The minimum age for referees is 13.
